We live in the Fair Oaks - Folsom area and we love being close to the American River bike trail. This trail goes from Folsom to downtown Sacramento. It is great for walking, biking or even horse back riding. Some of the wildlife you may see on the trail are turkeys, deer, raccoons, possums - even an occasional mountain lion. For swimming, boating, hiking or camping we head to Folsom Lake - just a few minutes away.
Just because we have lots of outdoor activities doesn't mean living in Sacramento means being out of touch with civilization. Shopping is great with numerous choices from malls to outlet stores and boutiques. There is plenty of culture with many local high caliber theatre companies, Music Circus, Sacramento symphony and Opera. Second Saturday has become a tradition among local art galleries with free public open houses.
There are many fine educational facilities including Sacramento State University, UC Davis, McGeorge Law School, Sierra College, American River College and many fine private & public schools.
